Wedding - Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda

Weddings are a topic that can keep girls talking for hours and hours. With the endless options and vast wedding industry available today, it is so overwhelming to plan the wedding of your dreams. My wedding day was beautiful but definitely planned in a short amount of time. My sister always says that God intended it to be that way because I would have given the term "bridezilla" a whole new meaning ;) My Mom and Mother-in-Law held my hand through the process as I moved from task to task such as picking out flowers, bridesmaid dresses, wedding dress, etc. I am nothing if not honest, so I will say that the world of Pinterest has left me feeling like I wish I could re-do every single thing in my wedding...I know that sounds bratty, and I don't mean for it to. Let me say, the day was perfection and I am thankful for every person who shared the day with us. I am even more thankful that Drew and I will be celebrating our NINTH wedding anniversary in a few weeks (that's what really matters)!!! I wouldn't trade a thing about the day but it is fun to think about what I would choose right now if I were planning a wedding. I love all of the images below and they would definitely be my inspiration if I were planning a wedding all over again. One thing I would for sure change is the flowers, I so wish I had gone with a bouquet of peonies for at least myself, I just can't get enough of that flower!

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

When the weather heats up in Spring & Summer our family loves to grill outside so that the kitchen doesn't get so hot. Plus, we all love the taste of grilled veggies, hamburgers, steaks, chicken, etc. We tend to get stuck in a rut and grill the same things over and over so I tried something new yet still easy last night. I cut up the chicken and vegetables and followed the directions found on this recipe. It was delicious and we will definitely be making it again. I also grilled sweet potatoes and they were pretty decent but weren't my favorite, probably because I put coconut oil on them and not cinnamon, butter, and sugar like I really wanted to ;) What is your favorite meal to grill in the Summer time?

Weekend Recap

Freedom to lounge at the pool in our own backyards, freedom to fish on a lake and catch a big bass, and freedom to jump as high as possible off of the diving board are all things we can enjoy thanks to the men and women who serve our country. Thanks for being so selfless and all that you do. I hope everyone's Memorial Day Weekend was as relaxing as ours ;)

My favorite flower & my favorite little boy

Connor's writing portfolio came home today and I was cracking up when I read this. Under the 'Opinions' section Connor wrote "My Uncle is truble." If you know Connor's Uncle, you know this is true ;) hehe.

I was looking through InStyle magazine and saw this little outfit featured. I love the print and colors on this Shoshanna adorable and perfect for this season.

Below are two pictures that I snapped at the end of the day today from my Mom's desk and put on Instagram. Peonies are my absolute favorite flower. They are just gorgeous and perfection in my book. Walking by her desk made me smile today because I got to see the pictures of my favorite little boy and my favorite flower :)

Cousin Congrats!

This past Saturday my cousin and friends got married. They have been dating for a long time and tied the knot in front of family and friends with a fun reception following. All week our family secretly fretted over the rain forecast while trying not to discuss it with the bride or add stress to her plate. Fortunately, God is good and the sun was shinin' as bright as could be. I wish Brad & Kolbi all the best and love them both dearly. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Summer SPF Guide

The Summer is right around the corner so I thought I would share my favorite sunscreens and dare I say,  amplifiers (yes I know, I am a bad girl). Our family LIVES at the pool, lake, or beach during the Summer, so we have tried lots of sunscreens.

1. We all use this on our faces and ears. It protects from sunburns and doesn't have a crazy strong smell.

2. We usually buy the Coppertone Kids SPF sprays in bulk like the package seen below. We go through this stuff! It always protects Connor's skin and even if it is SPF 100, he still gets as brown as a little indian.

 3. I remember my Mom using this stuff for a very long time, sometimes it can be hard to find, but it is super moisturizing and feels luxurious! However, I know there is little to no protection in this formula with a conservative SPF of 4.

 4. Drew prefers to wear SPF 10 when he is out until he builds up tolerance for more, we usually buy the kind below and use it all Summer for him and for myself at times.

5. Last and least in this case, this is the amplifying oil. I can't help it, I know this stuff is not at all what anyone needs on their body when out on the beach, but it smells amazing and makes your skin as soft as butter. I love it...probably due to safety reasons or low demand, it is impossible to find in Georgia.

So what are your favorite sun products?

Grad Party

I want to thank everyone who came to my graduation party yesterday or helped host and give it to me. I honestly could write a thousand posts to each of you about how you've supported me and loved me and believed in me but just know that I am so thankful and that I couldn't have done it without you. My family threw a great party in spite of the yucky weather all weekend. I love you all so very much. Everything was gorgeous!

My Macaron Experience

Since traveling to NYC (again) and to Paris are on my bucket list, one of the things I want to do in both places is visit this famous place

You know I have posted before about my love for sweets, so after reading about Macaron's in everything from Vogue to cooking blogs, I have been obsessed with wanting to try them. My sister found a place in Roswell that makes them, so we decided to be spontaneous and try them out when we had a little free time recently. We went to Douceur De France French Bakery & Cafe and tried a few different flavors of macarons they were offering that day. Excuse my iPhone pictures, I would have felt a little silly busting out a Canon Rebel to take pictures of these things in front of everyone.

It has been said that Macarons are the new cupcake and are becoming all the rage in the states. I won't lie, part of the appeal for this was the gorgeous colors that these little delights are.

Here are the ones Ashley & I tried: The flavors were lemon, caramel, chocolate, and raspberry. We loved them and I will definitely look forward to trying more if I get the chance.

Look at these beauties that I have seen on Pinterest:

They were slightly chilled and cool when we ate them - I am not sure if this is how they are supposed to be served or not, but they were delicious that way. If anyone reading has ever tried these, did you like them?

p.s. I am SUPER excited because tomorrow is graduation, woohoo!!!
