Sydney's Birthday Party

We had so much fun at Sydney's 6th Birthday party this weekend, we are so thankful for our lifelong friends and love them so much! We've experienced a few milestone together in the last week, and I wouldn't trade one second of the time with them! Big hugs to the Birthday girl this week!!! Oh, and I have to add -- how amazing is the birthday cake?! Amanda made it all by herself!! She might be regretting showcasing that talent when all of her less-talented friends start commissioning her for cakes in the future ;) haha! It tasted as good as it looked!

Welcome to the World, Bentley!

This precious little baby was born a few days ago, and I am having to force myself not to be a "baby hog" and go see him every single day. Amanda and I talk constantly about how he is a "baby model!" Since this is my blog, I will not share the nitty gritty of the labor and delivery, but let me just say that Jill is now my hero!

The "Welcome Home" banner above was made by Amanda and I. It was super easy to make with scrapbook paper and card stock and matches Bentley's nursery (which is so adorable) - we were so excited for Jill to see it and hope she loved it since she is just as in into that sort of thing as we are!

To be continued....

The past week has been cRaZy to say the least! I have never been so confused about which day of the week it was! Bentley was born, I survived an insane week of school, and Connor went out of town and to the circus! I will post details and picture hopefully this evening. For now, we are off to church and Syd's birthday party...I am so excited about the gift wrapping I did!

"I had a osm day"

Every night, we try to ask Connor to write one sentence about his day or something he is interested in (tractors, baseball, etc.) - tonight, I asked him to write me a sentence telling me about his day. We never help him with the spelling if he doesn't ask - it's just too fun to see how his little minds think words like "awesome" should be in point above (osm=awesome)! Anyway, he asked me to write a sentence, so I wrote a little phrase that I tell him all the time when he says "You are my best Mommy!" So, I say..."You are my best Connor!"

I hope you all have had an "osm" day as well! ;)

Last night we went to a family members wedding at the Hyatt Regency, and Connor went with us. He looked so stinking cute, I forgot to snap a pic of his entire outfit, but trust me, he was adorable! The wedding was lovely and was a lengthy process with a "cocktail and hors d'oevure hour" after the ceremony (uncle Ronnie married them, he did great), then a sit down dinner. All things considered, Connor was really well-behaved and we were proud of him for being so good. Because Kassidi, Kolbi, and Brad ended up not coming, we sat at a table with people we didn't know and even though they were nice and introduced themselves and it wasn't awkward at all, Connor leaned up and whispered in my ear "okay, this is awkward" and went to sit with Nona and Papa.

Another funny bit about the wedding is that the only other child there was a 7 year old little girl, and she came over with her Mommy to Connor and I and the Mom told me that her daughter thought Connor was so cute and wanted to have a dance party later in the night...Connor told my aunt, uncle, parents, and gparents that his "dancing days were over" after he heard the Mom tell me that. hahaha!!
He was not shy at all about giving the gorgeous bride a big hug even though he doesn't "know" her and is such a little ham. You truly never know what is going to come out of this child's mouth.

Saturday Silly's

This morning Connor wanted to use my computer to look at legoland, playmobil, and some other toy website. So, to coerce me into letting him do it he said "here's my pillow pet, I will be a good citizen and let you lay on him!" - Ha! "Good citizen" - no idea where that one came from, but it sure cracked me up!

The coffee cup above is my favorite one, it pretty much sums up my attitude in the morning time! Love it!

Drew is working today but is going to get to meet us at Connor's baseball practice, he is excited to meet his team. We also have a wedding tonight that I need to shop my closet for...I think I know what I am wearing, but I am not 100% sure.

Last but not least, we went to eat at Cracker Barrel last night with Jill and Moose...Jill is ready to have this baby, but she looks so adorable! I can't wait to meet Bentley, I know he will be perfect! Any day now....

Mixed bag

I had a Zoology test today that I studied really hard for, lets hope all of the studying paid off, the test was really hard!

For a long time, I felt like my sister and I were the only ones who knew about the greatness of Gossip Girl, but it seems like there are a lot of people that I know that watch it now! Season 4 has been very "blah!" Then again, maybe I am just pouting because this adorable couple isn't together right now.

As you can tell, I am a die hard "Chuck and Blair forever" fan! I am telling you, if you don't watch this show - order season 1 on netflix and enjoy! Love, love, love!
And just for "you know what" and giggles...if we suddenly won the lottery, I would want this little pretty for Valentines Day. The leather is gorgeous. #inmydreams

Catching up...again!

I always get behind with the blogging thing. It doesn't take long to recap our days when they're fresh on my mind, but there are one thousand other things to do! I am still not sure how Drew, Connor, and myself accumulate so much laundry! It's a never-ending battle.

Let's see, last week Connor attempted to go back to school on Tuesday and stayed until about 10:30. Mrs. A said he continuously put his head down and just wasn't feeling up to being there...this is to be expected after having the flu and strep.

We took him to his pediatrician on Wednesday (where Drew made fun of me for "acting like a patient" and discussing my asthma with Dr. Nalley haha) anyway --- Dr. Nalley said that Connor should be fine to go to school the next day and his lungs sounded fine. So, he had a two-day week at school which makes me wonder how many days of school he has missed in the past 4 weeks including snow and all...kind of scary!

Thursday morning Connor and I got up bright and early to make sure we would make it to "Muffins for Mom" at 7:15 so that I could make it to Reinhardt by 8:00...thank you Lord for not allowing any policemen on any of the back roads I traveled to school that morning, because I was flying!

Then, this weekend Connor had baseball tryouts and did really well. We were so proud of him and can't wait to find out whose team he's on and for the season to start. He was picked in the third round of drafts which is pretty good, so like I said..we were really really proud!

We ended up just staying at home to watch the superbowl. I won't lie here, I didn't watch at all. Tom Brady wasn't playing, so I really wasn't interested. Oh, I also would have watched if the Falcons had played...I guess you can call me a "fair weathered fan!" haha! Con went to bed early on Sunday night, and poor Drew watched the game all by his lonesome while I watched old episodes of Sex and the City on E!

While the super bowl was on, I did post a status on facebook saying that "there will never be another halftime show as good as the one with aerosmith, britney spears, and n*sync" -- I was talking about this one in the video above. That was the best halftime show, ever...period.

Lastly, Connor received the "Happy Note" today (for like the 4th time this school year) hehe :) -- he is making me one proud Mommy!!!

I hope you all are having a fantastic week!
