Thanks to the beautiful weather this afternoon, Connor got to ride his four wheeler, help Papa wash the truck, swing on the swing set, and just get some fresh air while playing outside! We love sunny days!

I am taking Con to the dentist tomorrow to have a fitting for the spacers for a tooth that was pulled in the back of his mouth so that his jaw line and teeth spacing aren't severely affected. Although it has been a pain in the neck to have to visit the dentist so much while Con is so young, we LOVE our dentist! They are the best, and they have been so wonderful in every aspect. Uncle Erick loves to give us a hard time about all of the "fam visits" aka familiarization visits that we went to while getting Connor used to the big dentist experience. But, all joking aside - he was terrified and filled with anxiety and refused treatment by any dentist until we met this wonderful pediatric dentist that had endless patience with Connor. So, it was worth all of the trips to get all of the yucky stuff in his mouth taken care of :)

Also...the verdict is in...we will be giving baseball another shot this year. We will be signing up this weekend.

I am off to bed since we need to be in Roswell at 9:30 in the morning. Good night!

sweet dreams...

I just snapped this pic with my iPhone tonight while putting Connor to bed. He is snuggling tight with "Luvvy." Bedtime has been a bit of a challenge for us lately. Tonight, Connor tried to convince us that he "seriously sleeps better when he watches tv at night" and that "he isn't trying to play a joke on us." Ha! He is such a persuasive little booger! We've got to get back into some kind of routine. These after 9 bedtimes aren't cutting it when it is time to rise and shine in the morning for school. Oh well, he is definitely sleeping peacefully at the moment. Sweet Dreams!

Memory Lane Monday....

Isn't this the craziest hair ever?! I thought I would post an old pic tonight since it is just a regular ol' Monday and nothing exciting has gone on. Connor went to bed about 10 minutes ago at 8:00 P.M. sharp. Drew and I are crossing our fingers that he stays in bed and falls asleep fast. The mornings are so much smoother around here when Con is in bed at 8. Sweet Dreams!

Great Weekend...

Though the weekend has flown by, it has been both fun and relaxing! Connor spent the night with GiGi & Pa on Friday night, and he was very excited to spend time with them. Saturday morning we all met up at Avery's basketball game, and Con got to play with his little cousins. After Ave's game, we all went to La Parilla to eat lunch. As we were leaving, several people were staring at all of our kiddos (Lee, Avery, Erin, and Cam were with us) walking out and trying to put the kids with the parents. They probably knew right away that Connor is Drew's child, but the others may have been tricky to determine! ha! We made it to Garrett's game at Buffington, and Drew yelled at the team several times. Wow...that's a look into the future! Since we have been to quite a few basketball games lately, I am so excited for Connor to play next year (and hope he loves it just as much as Drew did)! But, I also look at my "little" cousins Garrett and Dalton and realize how they are not so little anymore. It is bitter sweet. Before we know it, Connor will be one of those tall & lanky boys running around like a maniac on the court. So, once again...I am reminded to soak in every second of this sweet little age of 5. Next week is going to be a full 5 day week for everyone in school, what will we all do!? We have been spoiled with these 4 day work weeks.

Also, last night we attended a benefit for Brian & Tina. It is such a blessing to live in a sweet, southern, Christian community where people come out to support others going through a hard time. It was good to see several people from our old church, some of them mean the world to me. I was saved there, and I grew up there for the most part. It was also good to see my Mamaw and Papa. Papa was wearing a Georgia Tech hat at the benefit...maybe I should take him a UGA or Alabama hat sometime this week. If I gave it to him, I am sure he would wear it! :)

We didn't make it to church this morning, because our power was out. We were looking forward to going, but we will definitely be there next sunday. (Daddy asked me last week if we were converting to the one sunday a month plan, what would I do without him to keep me in line?)  I hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend and stay safe if the roads are wet this week.

5th Birthday Recap

Nona made cupcakes for Connor's class, and I took them to school on his birthday. Everyone loved all of the safari animals. Of course, Con wanted a cupcake with an elephant on it. :)

Connor loves his buddy, "Seth Dunn"

Ms. Nicole snapped a picture of Connor and I before I had to head back to work after delivering the cupcakes.

Connor opening one of his many presents at his birthday party. Everyone was so generous and gave Connor lots of goodies. Thanks to you all.

I love this picture.

Sydney and Connor. These two have always loved each other so much.

Connor and Lane :)

The birthday prince. He was making such a funny face, he was loving the spotlight!

Since I didn't blog in November about the big 5th birthday that Connor celebrated, I think I will do a little recap tonight. Connor told us at the beginning of November that he wanted to have his party at Chuck E Cheese, so we gladly obliged. It was super easy to have his party there, the only thing we had to provide was a cake and some goodie bags for the kiddos that joined us for the party.

Thanks to everyone who made Connor's 5th Birthday so fun! It is hard to believe that he is 5.

It is safe to say that we are all happy that this week is only a 4 day work/school week. Tomorrow is the half way point, yay! Connor told us tonight at supper that "no blacks are allowed at the park." We all were a little shocked to hear him say this, but then he explained that Mrs. Pat taught him about MLK Jr and the reason that we were out of school on Monday. He explained to me on the way home all about Mr. Martin Luther. No worries, he isn't learning racism at his school. He just didn't tell the full story at first! Connor had a visitor at his Nona & Papa's house today...Abigail! She came over after school, and Connor played so well with her. They had lots of snacks and made a big tent. On the way home earlier, Connor tried to fall asleep on me (at 6:15 PM). That wouldn't have been a good idea, so I kept him awake and am actually putting him to bed at 7:45 since he is one sleepy little dude! We are off to put on pajamas & brush our teeth. Sweet dreams xoxo!

A big update...

The picture above is Connor standing outside in the snow last week. He played in the snow a good bit, but we weren't prepared for the cold temps that GA had. We are used to mild winters!
The picture above was taken at my Mom & Dad's house on the night of the Caylor Christmas. Connor had fun with his little cousins. It was so sweet to see Mamaw and Papa watch all of their grandkids play together.

Drew, Connor, and I on Thanksgiving night.

Connor and Logan. She is such a doll!

This picture was taken at the Christmas play Connor was in this year. He did good, but he definitely gave us all some laughs out in the audience!

Long time, no updating! I haven't updated Connor's blog in quite a while. We have just been so busy and have spent the last several months adapting to Connor being in school 5 days a week! He loves school and is doing so well! Several days before his Christmas break at school, I had the routine parent/teacher conference with Mrs. Pat. She had only good things to say about Connor and dwelled on the fact that he is very bright and independent. Tell me something I don't know! haha. I knew how independent Connor was when at only 4 pounds and 3 ounces he showed the doctors that he was completely healthy and ready to head home instead of staying in the hospital like most preemies have to do. We are so blessed! We had a peaceful & joyful Christmas this year. Because of a tighter budget, we didn't send out Christmas cards this year - but I already have my wheels turning for cute card ideas to use for Christmas of 2010. For the past two weeks, we have just been working on getting back into the swing of things. Connor is usually happy every morning to go to school, and he has even gotten better about wearing blue jeans instead of soft pants everyday! I am in school on Mondays and Wednesdays, and I work on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. And, of course - the hardest worker of us all, Drew is working steadily and happy to be doing so. He dodged another round of layoffs at the end of last year, and we are so thankful for that answered prayer! We are already anxiously awaiting spring time! The next big decision is to see if Connor wants to play baseball this year or not....we shall see...
